The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong (MHAHK) organized a long-distance running race called “MHA Run” on 29 October 2016 target for the students of the association and the mentally handicapped and ex-mentally ill people. The objectives of which is not only to encourage the participants to pay attention to their health and have regular physical activities, but also provide an opportunity for them to show their talents and to improve their communication skills through interaction with the volunteers during the event.

Epro Telecom has spared no effort in supporting the under-privileged community, and had sent our Volunteer Team to assist the operation of  “MHA Run” on that day based on a wish to demonstrate an integrated community of healthy, mentally handicapped and ex-mentally ill people.

During the event, Epro Volunteer Team was responsible for before-the-event preparation, maintaining order, distributing food and water, handling luggage storage, recording racing results as well as distributing medals to the participants. On that day, the “MHA Run” had over 250 participants and a total of 45 awards were given out. Despite the event was briefly interrupted by a  shower, everyone was still very excited and joyful until the end of the event.

“I have participated in several volunteering services organized by our company before, which included fund-raising events and visiting activities.”one of our volunteers expressed after the event, “I am glad and proud to be part of the Epro Volunteer Team in assisting this meaningful event, even though there was a brief shower, watching the smile on the participant’s face gave me great pleasure and satisfaction. And I think it is exactly the good of volunteering work which brings joy to those being helped as well as the one who offering it.”
